Happy Holidays

We would like to take a minute and wish all of you Happy Holidays.  Please have a safe and happy New Year

Did you ever notice your kids talk about the fire department or EMS agency visiting their school lately?  Chances are you haven’t.  Most likely because of budget cuts, or lack of volunteers during the school hours.  Due to these unfortunate circumstances many schools will not get a visit this year.

Over the last 10 years, departments have had to cut their visits to schools for these reasons and it could lead to problems.  When I was a child, I looked forward to the fire trucks and ambulances coming to school every year.  It was always a special treat.  Sadly – My son has only experienced it once in his 4 years of elementary school.

The Emergency Safety Academy (ESA for short) is a new NPO that will hopefully be able to fix that.  One school at a time.  They are dedicated to educating children from elementary all the way to high school.  Their prograns range from basic fire safety for elementary school to DUI and volunteer recruitment for high schoolers. They also offer services for camps and birthday parties.

Please take a look at their facebook page, and website.  Maybe make a donation, book a party, or get involved.  It’s for a great cause!!!
